Ayan Khan Ruhab, an eight month old baby from Satkhira, Bangladesh, has become the country’s first carbon neutral baby. His parents took this meaningful step to give their child a greener start in life and inspire others to act for the planet.
He is the son of Imran Rabby and Aysha Akter; Imran is the Founder of Greenman, and Aysha is the Coordinator of Kiron. As part of this initiative, the couple planted 580 trees in Satkhira to offset their baby’s lifetime carbon footprint, making Ruhab’s birth and upbringing carbon neutral.
This initiative received recognition from Dhaka Planters, a grant winning initiative of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), for its inspiring contribution to sustainability.
Imran Rabby says that, ‘We planted trees for Ruhab so he can grow up in clean air and a green environment. It’s our small step for his future and for the earth. Please keep Ruhab in your prayers so he grows with love and nature.’
